Explicitly insufficient evidence

What does not count, and why. Published because the omission is where a check quietly becomes a claim.

  • "store in a cool, dry place"
    Generic boilerplate with no temperature that is silent on the refrigeration question buyers actually have, and arguably not a special condition at all.
  • "keep sealed" or "reseal after opening"
    Closure handling is not a storage condition, and the two are routinely conflated in copy.
  • advice to refrigerate for longer life
    It runs directly contrary to mainstream trade-association guidance, so presence of storage advice must not be scored as soundness of storage advice; presence and correctness are different tests.
  • a freezing recommendation with no airtight-container and small-portion caveats
    Those caveats are what make freezing survivable rather than harmful, so the recommendation without them is incomplete.

This is the freshness question with a real legal hook behind it in the EU, and the one where popular advice is most often wrong: the mainstream trade association strongly advises against refrigerating coffee, and the trade's own assessment protocol says to store it cool and dark but not refrigerated or frozen.
